Just like the lotus flower that rises beautifully from muddy waters, parenthood is a remarkable journey of growth and transformation. As your doula, I am here to provide unwavering support, guidance, and care to help you navigate this beautiful experience. My Story
Despite having been around babies and expectant mothers my whole life, I had no idea what to expect during my daughter's birth. I was the first of my friends and immediate family to have a baby. I remember getting advice and listening to birthing stories from anyone who was willing to share. I thought this combined with google was all I needed to have the birth I wanted. I remember the feeling of being overwhelmed with information after many prenatal appointments and thinking to myself, "I don't even know what to ask," after my provider would ask if I had any questions.. I ended up having a long and difficult labor that was nowhere near the birth that I had fantasized about in my head. It took me a few months to process the events of my birth and about 2 years to fully heal mentally and emotionally from not having the birth that I wanted.

Because of my experience, I realized there was a need in my community to support others during their transition into parenthood but I wasn't sure what that initially looked like. It began with helping out expecting friends with meal deliveries, giving encouragement and support or helping with the baby and household to-do list during the postpartum period. I couldn't ignore the amazing feeling of being able to give back and help empower some of the people that I held dear to me and I felt like I was being nudged by God to dive head in and expand on that. An opportunity to train to become a community doula came up shortly after that, and I went for it. I have seen (and experienced) firsthand how important it is to "Mother the Mother," in order for her to nurture the child.

I chose the lotus flower because it symbolizes resilience, purity, and rebirth—qualities that mirror the strength and beauty of parenthood and as each petal unfolds, it represents a step in the long journey, blossoming into a story of love and connection.

In my free time, you can find me chasing around after my toddler. I love Dr. Pepper, running, yoga, reading books, going on hikes with my daughter and Fall weather.
